Hard Seal Exhaust Port Kit – With Sample Line and Water Trap
The p/n 001183 Hard Seal Exhaust Port Kit allows you to install a threaded nutsert into the exhaust pipe upstream of the tailpipe in the exhaust system. This provides a method to extract a pure sample of exhaust gas without concern for air dilution due to ambient air mixing in the exhaust gas sample. This means that what the analyzer will read is pure exhaust gas, which makes for much more accurate determination of gas emissions levels and engine diagnostics parameters, such as Lambda (AFR) and Combustion Efficiency.
Installation Tool, Sample Line with Filter and Water Trap, Port Adapter, Nutsert Port
Simple, Permanent Port Installation:
The port may be installed at any convenient location, requiring minimum drill and tool access, as only a 10MM inch diameter nutsert installation hole in the exhaust pipe is required. Additionally, the nutsert is designed to create a gas-tight seal on a round surface as small as 1.0 Inch in diameter, and from 0.030 to 0.170 inches thick. After the nutsert is installed, there is permanent access to the port by means of a brass adapter (shown above) which is installed in the nutsert and fixed in position by means of a jam nut. Then, the 12 Inch long stainless steel braided sample line can be installed on the adapter, and the Bridge gas analyzer sample line connected to the water trap gas outlet as it normally is done. The full functions and accuracy of the Bridge gas analyzer is maintained – with gas purity assured and without the need for an exhaust tailpipe probe.
After gas measurement is complete, the sample line is removed from the adapter, the adapter is removed from the port, and a sealing bolt and washer are installed in the threaded port. Once installed, the port is a permanent fixture on the vehicle, and remains readily available for future maintenance activities.
Port Locations – Ideal for Emissions, Diagnostics, Lambda, AFR and Combustion Efficiency, CAT Oxidation/Reduction Efficiency:
The hard-seal port may be installed anywhere in the exhaust system – including improved emissions testing by simply installing a port in the engine header pipe, to isolate the tailpipe emissions from ambient air dilution or between the catalytic converter and the muffler for equipment fitted with a catalytic converter. A port may also be installed in the header pipe prior to the catalytic converter for equipment fitted with a catalytic converter so that engine-out exhaust gases may be sampled to diagnose engine control issues, assess fuel control in open and closed loop, determine the state of engine-out gases so that catalytic converter loading can be determined, and to easily determine catalytic converter oxidation and reduction efficiency under real-world conditions.
A Complete Set of Tools – Easy Installation and Use:
All elements needed for port installation, use, and finished sealing are included in the P/N 001183 Kit. The kit contains enough nutserts and sealing components for 25 port installations, with additional nutserts and sealing components available in packs of 25 sets from Bridge for a nominal cost. The exhaust gas sample is extracted from the hard-seal port by the gas analyzer itself, allowed to cool in the high-temperature flexible line, filtered and water condensation removed, and then transported to the gas analyzer for analysis using the standard Bridge gas sample line.
