The traditional black septa are used to seal the needle puncture area when performing modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) testing. Use of a septum prevents air from entering the inside of the package while testing. It helps to ensure an accurate sample of MAP gas.
The traditional black septa require slight pressure to initiate the adhesive seal. Once placed on a sample site and adhered, the septum is confidently in place. It is not recommended for removal and reuse at a different sample site on another package. For a septum that is more suited for removal and reuse for multiple sample tests consider the black gold septum, p/n 001620.
Each septum is 13 mm in diameter and 3.2 mm thick.
The traditional black septum part number is 001015. Each roll contains 1000 pieces.
